Welcome, back from Spring Break! I hope all of you had a change to relax, play, and treat yourself to something nice.
This week’s lesson is called, “Happy, Earth Day!” Earth Day happens every April 22 to “inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth‘s environment.” We’re going to have a lot of fun!
Housekeeping:
1) We are collecting art supplies for Primary Children’s Hospital. They are in need of glue, jumbo crayons, markers, etc. We will be collecting them through the month of May. Any support is greatly appreciated, thank you!
2) Get registered for Summer Camp. You may register for any 8, or more, days of Summer Camp and receive $10 off tuition (this deal is good until May 7th). When you register for all 16 days, you receive $25 days off tuition. Call, 888-300-7898.
3) Give your child the gift of an Early Childhood Arts Education with our Creative Arts Program Preschool. Children are natural born artists and learn best with hands-on methods that reach all learning styles. An Arts Education has the power to spark interests, encourage self-expression, boost self-esteem, create a love for learning, and reach all the learning styles, including: visual (learn through seeing), auditory (learn through listening), and tactile/kinesthetic (learn through moving, doing, and touching). We reach all of these learning styles in every single lesson at the Creative Arts Program for Kids. Come, join us for preschool!
4) Remember, to mark your calendars for the Open Bounce/Dance on April 19th from 10-1. There will be dancing, bouncing, hands-on materials for the kids to play with, snacks for purchase, and prize give-aways, etc. Registered CAP families are eligible for the 5 for $20 punch cards that are also good for the Cannes for Kids Intro to Film events. Punch cards will be available for purchase before and after the Creative Arts class.
Lesson Details:
The Planet Earth, our home, provides us with all the necessary elements for life. The cleaner and healthier our home is, the cleaner and healthier we will be. Earth Day is a day created to heighten awareness of our Earth’s environment. Depending on your child’s age, he/she may explore the shakers to “The Green Grass Grows All Around,” explore movement patterns of the earth during creative movement (rotating, revolving, facing toward the sun, facing away from the sun), participate in the “Earth Dance” with streamers, enjoy a creative drama activity where children will be encouraged to think of actions that would go along with facing toward the sun or facing away from the sun (like: waking up, going to sleep, feeling hot, feeling cold, etc.), decorate their own planet Earth (younger ones), spray their own planet Earth with blue/green paint (older ones), and enjoy the story, “I Love Our Earth!”
Please, call 888-300-7898 to get registered for the Creative Arts Summer Camp, Creative Arts Program Preschool, information on Open Dance/Bounce, Cannes for Kids Intro to Film, etc.
Thank you!
Ms. Erin
